Paso Robles Wineries

The Courtyard by Marriott® Paso Robles Hotel, conveniently located on S. Vine in Paso Robles California puts you within easy reach of the area’s many tantalizing wineries and tasting rooms, many a mere stone’s throw from the hotel.
Home to more than 170 wineries and 100 tasting rooms, Paso Robles offers no shortage of choice when it comes to sampling some of the most unique and renowned varietals on earth. Paso Robles is a diverse, robust wine region with everything from large resort style wineries that produce dozens of wines, to small family run wineries off the beaten path. There are more than 40 different grape varieties grown throughout the region’s 26,000 acres of vineyards. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel make up 72% of the types of wine produced. As of late, Paso Robles has been gaining in popularity with Rhône style wines, so it’s no wonder Paso Robles has been dubbed the “Rhone Zone” by many.
The Salinas River Valley splits the area into the “West Side” and the “East Side.” The cooler, wetter “West Side” has wooded hillsides with narrow valleys. For the most part, the vineyards and wineries here are generally small and are tucked away on the hillside or along country trails off Highway 46 West.
On the “East Side,” you find the largest wineries in the area, some with grand visitor centers, wine caves and entertainment, as well as the small wineries making less than 5,000 cases a year. Highway 46 East runs perpendicular to U.S. 101 and is home to many of these great wine tasting stops.

The third weekend in March brings the Paso Robles Zinfadel festival. The Paso Robles Wine Festival--the largest outdoor wine tasting in California--takes place every third weekend in May. Also in May is Hospice du Rhône, which brings wineries from around the world to the largest Rhône wine celebration anywhere. Harvest time brings the annual Harvest Wine Tour each third weekend in October.
