Camp Roberts in Brief: Used for Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve unit collective training and unit schools, Camp Roberts is located on U.S. Hwy 101, which follows the old Mission Trail. Maneuver Training Center (MTC) Camp Roberts is a 42,361-acre site that is the largest and best-equipped training area under the control of the California Army National Guard.
MTC Camp Roberts supports light and heavy maneuver (mounted and dismounted), live-fire training, aerial gunnery, drop zones, and limited airfield capabilities on two airfields. It also supports the Regional Training Site-Maintenance (RTS-M), the Camp Roberts MATES, and an organizational maintenance shop (OMS).
Fort Hunter Liggett in Brief: The largest U.S. Army Reserve Command post with over 165,000 acres, Fort Hunter Liggett (FHL) provides the ultimate in training opportunities for all types of units. The terrain can support up to Battalion Plus armored task force maneuver. The Multi-Purpose Range Complex supports up to Tank/Bradley Table XII. FHL also provides aviation training with a C-130 assault strip and a regulation Army helipad. FHL has a full complement of Directorates to assist in all training and a garrison with barracks, a mess hall, PX, and other facilities for using units. FHL, located in southern Monterey County, California, has been an active Army installation since 1940 when the U.S. Government purchased the land from publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst, Jr. and neighboring landowners.
To get to Camp Roberts from the Courtyard by Marriott® Paso Robles Hotel, head north on S. Vine St. toward Kiler Canyon Road (0.1 mile). Turn right at 2nd St. (0.1 mile). Turn left at Spring St. (2.4 miles). Take the ramp onto US-101 S. and travel 10.4 miles to reach the entrance to Camp Robert.
To get to Fort Hunter Liggett from the Courtyard by Marriott® Paso Robles Hotel, head north on S. Vine St. toward Kiler Canyon Road (0.1 mile). Turn right at 2nd St. (0.1 mile). Turn left at Spring St. (2.4 miles). Take the ramp onto US-101 N. (travel 19.3 miles). Take exit 252 to merge onto Jolon Road toward Co Hwy 18 (19.1 miles). Turn left at Fort Hunter Liggett (1.7 miles). Turn right to stay on Fort Hunter Liggett (1.2 miles).
